Moderators: Lori Arlinghaus & Virendra Mishra
Session Number: S-W-01
No CME/CE Credit

Session Number: S-W-01

Overview
This session will cover the quantification of diffusion in clinical applications, focusing on standardized techniques, advanced methodologies, and their application in various body regions. Attendees will gain insights into the latest developments in diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) and intravoxel incoherent motion (IVIM) methods, enhancing their ability to implement these techniques in clinical practice.

Target Audience
Medical physicists, radiologists and other healthcare professionals interested in diffusion MRI.

Educational Objectives
As a result of attending this course, participants should be able to:
• Apply standardized techniques for diffusion-weighted imaging;
• Identify advanced diffusion-weighted imaging techniques and their clinical applications; and
• Apply intravoxel incoherent motion (IVIM) methods in clinical practice.

07:00   Standardized Techniques & Application of DWI

× Video Permission Withheld

Savannah Partridge
Impact: The potential of DWI for improving cancer detection, diagnosis, and treatment has been demonstrated in multicenter trials. Recent standardization efforts are helping to facilitate more widespread clinical adoption.
07:20   Advanced DWI Techniques & Applications
Bachir Taouli
Impact: Advanced DWI techniques beyond monoexponential ADC, such as intravoxel incoherent motion (IVIM), diffusion tensor imaging (DTI), diffusion spectral imaging, diffusion kurtosis, diffusion radiomics and their potential applications will be discussed.
07:40   IVIM Methods
Susi Rauh
Impact: Intravoxel incoherent motion (IVIM) MRI allows for the simultaneous assessment of tissue diffusion and perfusion. This talk will cover the basic principles and applications of IVIM across the body.
