Associate professor, Technical University of Denmark (DTU), Copenhagen, Denmark

I would like to express my interest in joining the board of the ISMRM Nordic Chapter. I have been working with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) since 2002 where I entered the field by helping out with practical task and analysis for a functional MRI (fMRI) study. Later I did a special course on analysis of fMRI and ended up doing my thesis working with visual experiments in fMRI. My initial experiences were shaped by the vibrant community in MRI, which also played an important part in the decision to pursue the career as a researcher and my continued interest in neuroimaging techniques. By now I have considerable experience in MRI and feel that I am now ready to pay back to the community by helping to promote and educate about MR research and in applications. Being a board member of the ISMRM Nordic Chapter will allow me pursue this desire further.

My main interest within MRI is in functional imaging using fMRI with special focus on advanced analysis techniques. This means that I typically consider the use of MRI from the possible applications. However, due to my basic background in engineering physics I have been in charge of setting up MRI sequences for a range of studies and try to keep updated on the most recent developments and also contribute to a range to research projects where the main focus is development of novel MRI methodology.
