SMRT has established the following timeline for the nomination process. Dates listed below are for the 2016 Calendar year.

August 01 Call for Nominations is provided to the membership with a deadline for submissions of close of business, September 1
September 01-07 Nominations are reviewed by SMRT staff. Individuals who meet the eligibility requirements are provided with an online link to the written application, reference form and the guide for nominees.
September 16 Deadline for nominees to submit applications and supporting information
September 26-October 07 Telephone interviews are conducted with qualified candidates by members of the SMRT Awards & Nominations Committee
October 10-14 The Awards and Nominations Committee meets via teleconference to review candidate application materials, results of phone interviews and reference letters. After careful deliberation, the committee selects candidates for the President-Elect and Board members and reports to the President and Associate Executive Director no later than October 14.
By November 01 Ballot is opened to membership for vote of proposed candidates.
December 01 Membership vote for officers and Board members closes.
December 02-05 Votes are verified by office staff.
December 07 Elected President-Elect and Board members are notified by President and Associate Executive Director.
