OCTOBER 2012

SMRT & THE RSNA ASSOCIATE SCIENCES CONSORTIUM

Cindy Comeau, B.S., R.T.(N)(MR), FSMRT
Chair, External Relations Committee

“As the current External Relations Chair I invite the SMRT membership to forward me your suggestions on topics or speakers that would fit into the subject of “Emerging Technologies.”
The Associated Sciences Consortium is a working group sponsored by the RSNA representing several professional societies in radiologic sciences, technology and administration.  The Consortium’s first workshop was conducted in 1980 and the SMRT has been a member since 1997. For those of you who have attended the RSNA these courses are comprised of a variety of subjects as the objective is to provide educational programs to associated sciences personnel. The planning structure of these sessions starts with an annual planning session conducted once per year along with an elected Consortium Coordinator whom serves a 3 year term. The External Relations Liaison represents the interest of the SMRT at these planning meetings. At the past planning meeting held in January 2012 the SMRT has been assigned to plan a course for the 2013 program. As the current External Relations Chair I invite the SMRT membership to forward me your suggestions on topics or speakers that would fit into the subject of “Emerging Technologies”. Keep in mind that this subject can include any imaging modality. All suggestions can be sent directly to me at ccomeau@mrict.com. For anyone attending RSNA this year please stop by the SMRT booth and be sure to mark your calendars to attend the 2012 Associated Sciences Courses.
