The SMRT is
looking forward to working jointly with the ISMRM to
host an international MR Safety Workshop in the USA.
Attendance at previous ISMRM safety workshops have
proved extremely valuable to MR technologists and
radiographers as evidenced by testimony from SMRT
participants Titti Owman and Anne Marie Sawyer.
In addition to acquiring important answers about MR
safety and exchanging ideas and information with
presenters, the FDA, manufacturers of MR scanners
and ferromagnetic detectors, and other meeting
participants; attendance at these workshops produces
significant questions that ultimately lead to a
clearer understanding of MR safety and the needs of
the imaging community. Anne, Titti and Vera Kimbrell,
who all have a wealth of experience, will be
spearheading our resources in supporting this
meeting. After previous successful collaborations in
previous ISMRM safety workshops, we are excited to
continue to raise the bar in MRI safety education
for our entire community.
