Kirsty Campbell, PG Dip HSc MRI

Kirsty Campbell is Auckland born and bred and has worked in both the public health system and in private practice. She started her career in 1993 at Middlemore Hospital, and is currently the MRI Manager of Insight + Ascot Radiology, Auckland, New Zealand.

Kirsty has a National Diploma in Medical Diagnostic Imaging, a post-graduate certificate in Magnetic Resonance Imaging, and a post-graduate diploma in Heath Science (MRI). She has been with Insight + Ascot Radiology since 1999, and started training in MRI in 2000.

Kirsty manages three MRI scanners; two Philips Achieva 3T’s at Ascot Hospital, one having the multi-transmit technology, and a third scanner located at the New Zealand Millennium Institute of Sport & Health on the North Shore. This scanner is a wide-bore Discovery 750MR GE 3T scanner.

Insight + Ascot Radiology have a wide variety of work including musculoskeletal, gynaecological, gastrointestinal, neurological, vascular, vetanarian, breast and MR breast biopsy.

Over the past 15 years Kirsty has attended many of the SMRT conferences and meetings both in New Zealand and overseas. She presented a paper on breast MRI at the recent 2013 Annual SMRT ANZ Chapter meeting held in Sydney. She was appointed the New Zealand North Island representative for the ANZ chapter early 2014 and is looking forward to chairing the annual 2015 meeting in Auckland next year.

Kirsty also facilitates the Insight + Ascot Radiology CPD program and is a clincal supervisor for the Auckland University Post Graduate programme.

Kirsty is honoured to have received the nomination for a potential candidate to the SMRT Policy Board. She values the work and the commitment of the SMRT organisation and the speakers who share their knowledge with fellow MR colleagues. She appreciates the opportunity to continue to promote the high standards of excellence we have within the MR community in New Zealand and overseas.
