The SMRT Educational Seminars (Volume 10, Number 1), has been approved for 4.0 Category A Continuing Educational credits.

Read the SMRT Educational Seminars (Volume 10, Number 1), "MR Imaging of Perfusion" and complete the quiz and official Answer Form at the back of the article. To receive credit the quiz must be completed with a score of 75% or better. Completion of all questions with a passing score will earn a total of 4.0 category A Continuing Education credits.
 
SMRT members should send the completed Answer Form to the SMRT Education Department for scoring. The certificate will state the CE reference number and awarded CE credits. Members receiving a score less than 75% will be notified and given the option of taking the quiz an additional two times. Members should retain their CE Certificate for their Continuing Education registry requirements.

  • To review the primary components and mechanisms of the cerebral vasculature.
  • To discuss the concept and implementation of permeability imaging in acute ischemic stroke.
  • To understand the behavior of cerebrovascular autoregulation and the concept of cerebrovascular reactivity (CVR).
  • To describe the physical basis and tissue contrast mechanisms in BOLD fMRI.
  • To review contrast agent kinetics in contrast-enhanced MRI.
  • To describe the advantages and disadvantages of differing MR contrast agents.
  • To discuss T2*-weighted and T1-weighted imaging post-contrast administration including data acquisition, quantification and limitations.
  • To identify the challenges of dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI.
  • To describe the characteristics and causes of fetal, neonatal and childhood strokes.
  • To review the MR imaging sequences and parameters valuable in detecting and evaluating pediatric stroke.
