MR Imaging Sequences: Gradient-Recalled Echo (GRE)
Volume 13, Number 1

Accreditation:
The SMRT Educational Seminars (Volume 13, Number 1), has been approved for 3.0 Category A Continuing Educational credits.

Read the SMRT Educational Seminars (Volume 13, Number 1), "MR Imaging Sequences: Gradient-Recalled Echo (GRE)" and complete the quiz and official Answer Form at the back of the article. To receive credit the quiz must be completed with a score of 75% or better. Completion of all questions with a passing score will earn a total of 3.0 category A Continuing Education credits.

SMRT members should send the completed Answer Form to the SMRT Education Department for scoring. The certificate will state the CE reference number and awarded CE credits. Members receiving a score less than 75% will be notified and given the option of taking the quiz an additional two times. Members should retain their CE Certificate for their Continuing Education registry requirements.

Educational Objectives
Steady-State MR Imaging Sequences: Physics, Classification, and Clinical Applications
  • Review the physics and principles of steady state in gradient-recalled echo (GRE) MR imaging;
  • Describe the types and features of steady state MR imaging sequences; and
  • Discuss and give image examples of clinical applications in the use of steady state MR imaging sequences.
Susceptibility-Weighted Imaging: Technical Aspects and Clinical Applications, Part 2
  • Review the principles of T2*-based MR imaging; and
  • Review the physiology, MRI scan parameters used to image and show image examples of:
    Traumatic brain injury (TBI)
    Stroke
    Neurodegenerative Disorders
    Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
    Vascular Malformations and Venous Disease
    Neurocysticercosis
    Brain tumors
