I have dedicated the majority of my career to the field of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, beginning in 1987 as an MRI Technologist at MR Imaging of Syracuse\/NMR of America in Syracuse NY. In 2020, I transitioned into academia, joining Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY<\/strong> as a faculty member in the MRI program. I earned a Master of Education degree in 2022<\/strong> and was subsequently promoted to Assistant Professor<\/strong>, where I continue to educate and mentor the next generation of MRI professionals.<\/p>\n

My long-standing involvement with the ISMRT<\/strong> reflects my commitment to advancing the profession globally. I have been an active member since the 1990s, regularly attending international meetings and seminars. I hosted three SMRT Northeast Regional Seminars (2002, 2005, 2007) and, inspired by Shawna Farquharson\u2019s 2020 initiative to establish a National Chapter and Division organizational structure, I founded the New York Division of the ISMRT<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The first NY Division meeting in 2020<\/strong>, which I hosted virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic, also served as the inaugural meeting of the North American Chapter<\/strong>. Since then, I have organized and chaired the second, third and fourth NY Division meetings (2023, 2024 and 2025.)<\/strong>, which were offered in hybrid format<\/strong>. I strongly advocate for hybrid programming, as it fosters local engagement while expanding access to a global audience. One of my ongoing goals is to encourage the formation of new ISMRT chapters and divisions worldwide and to support existing divisions in resuming hybrid meetings following the pandemic.<\/p>\n

Beyond my professional commitments, I have proudly volunteered with the National Ski Patrol for over 35 years, serving as a Ski and Toboggan Instructor. My personal interests include long-distance bicycle touring, mountain biking, and family camping trips in our VW Westfalia van.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
