Merton is located in central Oxford on Merton Street, which is just off the High Street. Oxford is less than sixty miles from London off the M40. Heathrow, Gatwick, and Stansted are served regularly by coach.

Parking is limited in central oxford, and will need to be arranged in advance with your accommodation if needed.

Accommodations at Merton

All bedrooms are quiet and comfortable, most with views of award-winning gardens and historic quadrangles. All come with a workspace, and tea and coffee-making facilities, and complimentary wifi internet access is also available. Some come with separate study rooms. All are non-smoking.

Housing options include en suite (private bath) single bedrooms and standard single bedrooms available which have (shared) bath and shower rooms nearby.

Airport

Heathrow is 45 miles away from Merton College Oxford. There is a regular coach between Heathrow and Oxford The Airline (https://airline.oxfordbus.co.uk), that for most of the day goes every 30 minutes. You can buy tickets on the bus, its cheaper to buy a return. The high street stop is a couple minutes’ walk to Merton.

Transportation

The Oxford Tube coach services from central London stop on the High Street opposite Queen's Lane, which is only two to three minutes' walk from the College. Here is a Google Map showing Merton College in relation to the city centre and the train station.

Oxford is an ancient, pedestrian-friendly city, with many one-way streets and limited parking. If you're travelling to Merton by car, it is best to enter the High Street from the east, turning left into Merton Street at the Eastgate Hotel. Alternatively, there are five Park and Ride services in Oxford which all serve the city centre, and the closest public parking is to Merton is at St Clements, it is a 10 minute walk and often full.
