Airport

The Venezia Marco Polo Airport (VCE) in Venice is the closest airport to Cultural Center Altinate San Gaetano and is 48 km away to the east. Venezia Marco Polo is the most reliable airport, and it is strongly recommended to book flights here.

Most modes of transportation are available from Venezia Marco Polo Airport and from Padua City Center proper.

Bus & Train

How to reach Padua from Venezia Marco Polo Airport:

Option A: ACTV Bus 15 + Train via Venezia Mestre

  • Take ACTV line 15 bus (direction “Stazione Mestre FSC1”) from the airport to Venezia Mestre Railway Station – get off at Venice Mestre Hotel Plaza, then walk ~4 minutes to Mestre station.
  • From Mestre, take a Trenitalia Regionale train to Padua Railway Station (~30–40 min). When leaving Padua station, use the “city center” exit, not Arcella.
  • Cost: Bus €8, Train €7–€12)
  • Apps: Trenitalia, Italo, Omio

Option B: Bus 5 + Train via Venezia Santa Lucia

  • Take ACTV line 5 (written Venezia on the bus) from the airport to Venezia Santa Lucia Train Station (8-minute walk from stop)
  • Take a Trenitalia Regionale train from Venezia Santa Lucia to Padua Station (~40–50 min)
  • Total travel time: ~1h 30 min
  • Cost: Bus €8, Train €7–€12
  • Apps: Trenitalia, Italo, Omio, tickets can be purchased from the train station ticket machines as well

Option C: Direct FlixBus

  • From Venezia Marco Polo AirportAirport to Padua (no transfers). (Cost: From €4)
  • App: FlixBus

Option D: Airport Service Buses directly to Padua (Tessera Aeroporto R/ Linea E015- V bus) (cost €10)

How to reach Cultural Center Altinate San Gaetano from Padua City Centre

Bus

There are multiple Busitalia bus stops surrounding the venue. The Ponti Romani 27 and Ponti Romani 68 stops are both about a 4-minute walk away servicing lines 7 and 9 running from Padua City Center. (Travel time: ~10–15 minutes, per ride cost 1.50 euro, use Busitalia Veneto app for easier purchase)

Tram

The Ponti Romani stop is the closest tram stop from the venue at 400m away and is about a 6-minute walk. The SIR1 line goes to this stop.
