ISMRM WORKSHOP SERIES ~ 01-04 April 2015

ISMRM Workshop on Diffusion-weighted Imaging Outside the Brain: From Physics to Clinical Practice
Boston, MA, USA

OVERVIEW

Extra-cranial DWI is increasingly used in clinical practice and research, and this workshop would be a timely, drawing on the rich expertise within the Society, to educate, discuss and consolidate the current role of DWI for clinical utility and research.

The workshop program will cover the latest advances in the application of DWI outside the brain, and will feature invited scientific presentations, a poster session and round table debates.

The meeting also provides a unique opportunity leading to writing of a consensus document to be submitted for potential publication in the Journal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging based on the discussions and recommendations of the experts present at the conference.

TARGET AUDIENCE

This workshop is designed for:
  • Clinical radiologists
  • Basic MR scientists and MR physicists
  • Students
  • Postdocs
  • Members of the diffusion study group
  • MR technicians

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

Workshop attendees will gain an understanding of:
  • Describe current diffusion protocols applied to disease evaluation outside the brain
  • Review the role of DWI in the body in clinical practice
  • Discuss how DWI may impact treatment decisions in oncology
