Scandinavia is one of the most intriguing areas of Europe. The city of Stockholm is Scandinavia’s largest city, built on fourteen islands that are connected by fifty-seven bridges. Situated on the Baltic Coast, much of the city area is water, and the many lakes and water sheds are highly-valued for recreational purposes. The city takes its unique character from a blend of 13th-Century Old Town, Gamla Stan, along with high-tech modern architecture. Stockholm is the capital city of Sweden as well as the home of the Nobel Prize. Stockholm has many unique museums and a wonderful selection of art galleries. Swedish design is characterized by lightness of form, clean lines and functionality which is significant for companies like H&M, Orrefors, Kosta Boda and IKEA. Sweden is also famous for music export represented by celebrities such as Roxette, Cardigans, Robyn and ABBA. Stockholm offers a wide variety of international restaurants and many different cultural events every day. Let Sweden welcome you by the words: Välkommen till Sverige!
