Overview
MRI technology has transformed today's healthcare delivery systems. Yet, Africa, the continent with the largest global burden of non-communicable diseases, has the worst access to MRI and the lowest participation in training & research. The Consortium for Advancement of MRI Education & Research in Africa (CAMERA) is a network of African experts, global partners, and ISMRM/ESMRMB members implementing disruptive approaches that are advancing MRI access and research in Africa. CAMERA seeks to provide African researchers with skills and opportunities to lead research that is relevant and applicable to the continent's needs.
Since its inception in 2019, CAMERA has met annually at the ESMRMB congress and at a recently organized ISMRM virtual meeting. These meetings have highlighted Africa’s complex and unique MR needs and have outlined opportunities for involvement in MR training & research in Africa. Next meeting will be at the 2022 ISMRM-ESMRMB conference.
This MIS will provide a platform for partnering with Game Changers – groups in Africa & diaspora that are advancing MRI training and research in Africa. Specifically, the aims of the MIS are to: 1) raise awareness of the work being done toward changing the landscape of neuroimaging in Africa; 2) present projects that will likely have a significant impact on clinical MRI in Africa; 3) solicit ideas for fruitful collaborations with African colleagues and institutions.
The MIS includes 3 20-min talks & a 1-hr panel discussion.

Target Audience
Members interested in development of trailblazing technologies & computational methods that can be applied to advance training & research in low-resou
