Session Number: M-02

Overview
This clinical-focused meeting session reviews the clinical and technical aspects of brachial plexus MRI. In the clinical part, the anatomy of the brachial plexus on MRI will be reviewed, followed by the various pathologic conditions including traumatic, inflammatory, neoplastic, post-radiation, and compressive plexopathies. In the technical part, the challenges of conventional pulse sequences will be reviewed, followed by emerging techniques such as vascular suppression, novel contrast agents, quantitative imaging, deep learning-based reconstruction and denoising, and finally latest advances in coil technology.

Target Audience
Radiologists in the field of musculoskeletal and neurological imaging and scientists interested in the field of hardware and software development relevant to brachial plexus imaging.

Educational Objectives
As a result of attending this course, participants should be able to:
- Review the MRI anatomy of the brachial plexus;
- Identify the imaging characteristics of various brachial plexus pathological conditions;
- List conventional and novel pulse sequences applied in brachial plexus imaging; and
- Explain the hardware and software challenges of the brachial plexus MRI and future directions.
