Overview
As imaging scientists working in medical research we must not only
operate within local ethical rules, but also make moral decisions as
part of our pursuit of improved diagnosis, prognosis, and scientific
insights. The aim of this plenary is to highlight some of the factors
that we should consider as scientists when planning, undertaking, and
disseminating MRI research in animals and humans.
Target Audience
Clinicians, scientists and engineers, technologists, and trainees at any
career stage working in MRI.
Educational Objectives
As a result of attending this course, participants should be able to:
- Identify the key moral issues in pre-clinical and clinical research.
- Describe globally shared values and areas where approaches may vary in
pre-clinical research, clinical research, and publishing.
- Explain key moral issues arising in scientific publishing.
