ISMRT 2025 North American National Chapter President-Elect Election

Candidate Bio

My long-term involvement in the ISMRT, including founding the NY Division and chairing multiple regional seminars, reflects my commitment to the organization and its community. I have been a continuous member of SMRT since the 1990’s. Over the years I have attended numerous ISMRT meetings and seminars. I hosted three SMRT NE Regional Seminars (2002, 2005, and 2007). After reading about Shawna Farquharson’s initiative as president of SMRT to implement a National Chapter and Division organizational structure in 2020, I was inspired to start the NY Division. The 1st NY Division meeting I hosted in 2020 was also the inaugural North American Chapter meeting. I switched the meeting to virtual due to COVID. I also hosted the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th NY Division meetings in 2023, 2024, and 2025 as hybrid meetings. I am a proponent of the hybrid format since it promotes both local participation and collaboration as well as availability to a larger online audience.

My current position is: Assistant Professor and Clinical Coordinator in the Medical Imaging and Radiation Sciences Department – College of Health Professions – at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse NY USA. Prior to that I worked at Cooperative Magnetic Imaging in Utica NY as a Chief Technologist and Site Manager for 30 years. My first MRI position was at MR Imaging of Syracuse (NMR of America) from 1987-1989.
