Candidate Biographies
Judy Hu is an MRI radiographer with extensive experience across major public tertiary hospitals in Australia, having worked in the Northern Territory, New South Wales, Western Australia and Tasmania. Over the past eight years she has developed strong clinical expertise across a broad spectrum of MRI examinations, with a particular focus on paediatric imaging.
Working within one of Australia’s leading paediatric hospitals, Judy has become highly regarded for her ability to manage complex studies while providing calm, patient-centred care to children and their families. She is known for her strong technical judgement, confidence in problem-solving challenging scans, and her dedication to consistently achieving high-quality diagnostic imaging.
As an accredited MR Safety Expert, Judy is actively involved in MRI safety and interdepartmental education. She regularly delivers MRI safety in-services to theatre and perioperative nursing teams, contributing to safer workflows and greater understanding of MRI safety. In 2025, she co-hosted the ISMRT NSW Division User Group Meeting, supporting professional engagement and knowledge-sharing within the MRI community.
Judy is honoured to receive this nomination for the position of NSW Representative and is committed to strengthening connection and education within the MRI radiographer community in Australia.
Shiami D. Luchow, trained at Monash university in Melbourne and started a radiography career at Monash Medical Centre. Then worked as an MRI radiographer at Royal Children’s hospital, Melbourne where I was fortunate enough to work in clinical as well as research areas. Few years passed raising children and moving to Newcastle where after a break, worked casually at Gosford and Wyong Hospitals. For the past eight years I have been at Hunter Medical Research Institute/University of Newcastle working as the Senior MRI radiographer immersed in all things research. Very grateful for where MRI has taken me over the years and grateful to be a part of this ever-evolving field of science. I am passionate about education and knowledge sharing and have participated in education activities from the beginning of my career.
Kate Skehan is the Senior MRI Radiographer overseeing the dedicated MRI simulator at Calvary Mater Hospital, Newcastle. With extensive experience in both public and private healthcare, intraoperative MRI, and research MRI in Australia and abroad, her expertise spans the evolving scope of MRI practice, safety, guidelines, and utilisation. Outside of work, Kate enjoys hiking and travelling with her family.
Chevaun Williams is an MRI radiographer with three decades of experience across paediatric, research, veterinary, and private healthcare settings in both Australia and the UK.
She is currently contributing to the leadership of the MRI service at the newly established Wyvern Private Hospital on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, a role in which she brings exceptional clinical expertise, extensive leadership experience, and a strong commitment to patient-centred care.
Chevaun holds a Postgraduate Diploma in MRI and is completing a Master of Health Management and Leadership, further strengthening her capabilities in clinical governance and service development.
Her career includes roles at leading children’s hospitals in Melbourne, London, and Sydney, where she has contributed to research-driven imaging and advanced clinical practice. She has also served as an MRI Subject Matter Expert, supporting quality improvement, protocol optimisation, and the advancement of professional standards.
Chevaun has been a member of the ISMRT since 2001 and is looking to further contribute to the organisation’s professional community through active engagement, knowledge sharing, and advocacy for excellence in MRI practice.
