SMRT has established the following timeline for the nomination process. Dates listed below are for the 2017 Calendar year.
July 31 | Call for Nominations is provided to the membership with a deadline for submissions of close of business, September 15. |
September 18-22 | Nominations are reviewed by SMRT staff. Individuals who meet the eligibility requirements are provided with an online link to the written application, reference form and the guide for nominees. |
September 29 | Deadline for nominees to submit applications and supporting information |
October 16-27 | Telephone interviews are conducted with qualified candidates by members of the SMRT Awards and Nominations Committee. |
October 30-Nov 03 | The Awards and Nominations Committee meets via teleconference to review candidate application materials, results of phone interviews and reference letters. After careful deliberation, the committee selects candidates for the President-Elect and Board members and reports to the President and Associate Executive Director no later than November 4. |
By November 08 | Ballot is opened to membership for vote of proposed candidates. |
December 08 | Membership vote for President-Elect and Board members closes. |
December 11-14 | Votes are verified by office staff. |
December 15 | Elected President-Elect and Board members are notified by President and Associate Executive Director. |
