Dr. Dean Federman

After commencing as a Radiologist in private radiology in 2010, Dr Dean Federman became Director of MRI services at MDI Radiology, commissioning their first MRI before expanding the service to other MDI clinics. He was also Chief Radiologist at Capital Radiology, Monash House Clayton for over 10 years. Dr Federman has a special interest in MRI, Musculoskeletal (MSK) radiology, spinal imaging and radiological intervention. He has been involved in many research projects, publications, presented at meetings and has provided regular educational sessions to clinicians and allied health professionals on various topics in MRI and MSK radiology. He has a strong interest in education and has been the supervising radiologist for MRI and musculoskeletal fellowship training of junior radiologists at Capital Radiology as the company’s head of education. He had a recent appointment at Melbourne Radiology Clinic, focusing on his passion for musculoskeletal radiology, pain management and MRI, with ongoing involvement in radiology education and supervision of fellowship training. Dr. Federman takes a unique approach to radiology, putting a large emphasis on patient clinical assessment in order to provide optimal reports, guide interventions and ultimately improve patient outcomes.
