2026 ISMRT ANZ Meeting — Speakers

Dr Han Aw Yeang is a Consultant Radiologist in I-Med Gippsland for over 15 years. He is also the Campus Director for over 7 years as well as Bairnsdale Medical Imaging Clinical Director for over 10 years.

After graduating from Medicine at the University of Manchester, he completed the Fellowship of the Royal College Physicians UK qualification before training in Radiology at the University of Liverpool.

Han was fortunate to be selected as one of the two inaugural Radiologists to attend the ProScan Fellowship in Musculoskeletal MRI Mastery Training Program with Dr Stephen Pomeranz in the USA. Han is also subspecialised in Cardiac CT and Breast Imaging.

Hersh Chandarana is a professor of radiology and urology, physician-scientist, and Vice Chair of Innovation and Predictive Diagnostics in the department of radiology at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. He also serves as Principal Investigator and Director of the NIH-funded National Center for Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering. Through NIH- and foundation-supported research, he has helped develop advanced imaging methods to study abdominopelvic diseases. His team pioneered rapid, motion-robust MRI techniques, including free-breathing MRI for patients unable to hold their breath. His group integrates artificial intelligence into MRI acquisition and diagnostics not only for improved disease detection and risk prediction but to also make advance imaging more accessible. Hersh has authored over 190 papers and has delivered over 90 invited lectures.

Dr. Bash is a Neuroradiologist and a Medical Director at RADNET. Prior to this she was on the faculty at UCLA as an Assistant Professor of Neuroradiology, after completing a 2-year neuroradiology fellowship and residency also at UCLA.

Dr. Bash’s passion and interests lie in artificial intelligence applications in advanced neuroimaging. She has a special interest in dementia imaging and Alzheimer’s disease educational initiatives. Dr. Bash is a recurring guest on TV, radio, and podcasts and is actively involved in AI clinical trials, peer-reviewed publications, as well as AI and dementia related educational talks and webinars. She also serves on the Editorial Board in the AI section for Applied Radiology and is a frequent contributing author to this journal.

Martin Graves is Professor of MR Physics in the Department of Radiology at the University of Cambridge. He received his BSc in Medical Physics and MSc in Medical Electronic from the University of London and his PhD from the University of Cambridge.  He is a senior Fellow of the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM). He has co-authored over 240 peer-reviewed publications as well as several textbooks including “MRI: From Picture to Proton”. In 2021 he was honoured to receive the ISMRT Crues-Kressel award for outstanding contributions to Radiographer/Technologist teaching. He is a member of the International Board of MR safety (IBMRS) where he sits on the MRSE exam committee.
