Welcome to the ISMRT Australian and New Zealand Chapters Joint Meeting.

We are delighted to invite you to join us in Melbourne, Victoria from 14 – 15 November 2026 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre for the 19th Annual Joint Meeting.

Following the success of our recent meeting in Brisbane, featuring world-class speakers and leading experts in the field, we are excited to bring the MRI community together again for another engaging and collaborative event.

Preparations are already underway, with the program committee curating an outstanding program of expert speakers who will share insights into innovative scanning techniques, emerging technologies, and future applications in MR.

The meeting will also provide valuable opportunities to connect with sponsors, exchange ideas with colleagues across Australia and New Zealand, and enjoy social networking events, including our Gala Event on Saturday evening.

About Us

The International Society for MR Radiographers & Technologists (ISMRT), a section of the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM) is the leading non-profit organisation that provides an international forum for education, information and research in magnetic resonance for radiographers and technologists throughout the world.

The ISMRT was established by technologists, clinicians and scientists in the field of MRI as a forum for radiographers and technologists to share their expertise and educational resources, with a common goal of improving healthcare for people worldwide.

As an organisation, we are committed to promoting communication and the dissemination of cutting-edge MR developments. The objective of ISMRT is to advance education and training, while striving to promote a high level of knowledge and professionalism in the field of MR radiography and technology.

ISMRT ANZ

The ISMRT community in Australia and New Zealand is represented by two National Chapters: the Australian National Chapter (ISMRT ANC) and the New Zealand National Chapter (ISMRT NZNC). Each Chapter operates independently to support the specific professional, accreditation, registration, and insurance requirements within its own country, while remaining closely connected through the broader international ISMRT network.

The relationship between the Australian and New Zealand Chapters is strong and collaborative. Both Chapters work together to deliver high-quality education and professional development opportunities for MRI technologists across the region. This partnership is reflected in the annual joint ANZ meeting, typically held in November, which continues as a shared initiative between the two Chapters.

In addition to the joint meeting, each Chapter hosts its own national events and activities. To further strengthen collaboration and alignment, the Presidents of both Chapters serve on each other’s Boards, reinforcing a shared commitment to advancing MRI practice and supporting members throughout Australia and New Zealand.
