Traumatic injuries are a major cause of physical and mental disability worldwide. It is crucial to swiftly and accurately assess patients in both acute and chronic trauma scenarios to minimize morbidity and mortality rates. MRI plays a pivotal role in guiding healthcare professionals in patient management and follow-up.

In this clinical focus meeting (CFM), we focus on the pivotal role that MRI plays in the assessment of patients with bodily injuries. Some key discussion points include the role of MRI in acute and chronic trauma to the nervous system, body, or musculoskeletal system:

  • How do we image both accurately and quickly in emergency situations?
  • Is imaging of body injuries with computed tomography sufficient?
  • How do we image the uncooperative or unresponsive patient?
  • What is the role of MRI in pediatric accidental and non-accidental injury?

By bringing together clinicians and scientists, our third in-person CFM aims to deepen our understanding of the critical aspects surrounding injured patients and explore current and innovative MR imaging approaches to tackle these challenge.

Registration for the CFM means access to all courses on Sunday, 05 May 2024 – Tuesday, 07 May 2024 and eligibility to claim up to a maximum of 25.00* AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.

The International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine designates this live activity for a preliminary maximum of 25.00* AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

* preliminary credit designation; subject to change

Clinical Focus Meeting-Only registrants, please note:
