Membership Information for the Japanese Chapter of ISMRM

Any individual involved in magnetic resonance in medicine, biology, or other related topics in research, education, manufacturing, or clinical practice may be admitted as a member of the ISMRM Japanese Chapter. The classes of membership are defined as the following.

  • Ordinary Membership is open to any professional with an interest in magnetic resonance and its application to medicine, medical science and biology, or other related topics in research, education, manufacturing, or clinical practice, who is a resident of Japan, upon payment of the annual dues (if dues are levied). Ordinary Members are eligible to serve on the Japanese Chapter committees, and to discounted registration fees when attending Japanese Chapter Annual Scientific Meetings. Ordinary Members are nonvoting.
  • Full Membership is open to those who are also Full Members of the ISMRM or SMRT. Full Members are eligible to vote, to serve on the Japanese Chapter committees, and to discounted registration fees when attending Japanese Chapter Annual Scientific Meetings. Postgraduate students supervised by Full Members are eligible to apply for stipends for attending the Japanese Chapter Annual Scientific Meeting to present a talk or poster.
  • Trainee Membership in the Japanese Chapter is open to those who are Trainee Members of the ISMRM or SMRT. Trainee Membership in the Japanese Chapter is also open to students who are not ISMRM Trainee Members, as long as they are registered for a degree in a relevant field of study, whether full-time or part-time, undergraduate or postgraduate. Ph.D. post-docs who have received their Ph.D. within the last five years are eligible for Trainee Membership in the Japanese Chapter. M.D. post-docs who have received their M.D. within the last seven years are for Trainee Membership in the Japanese Chapter. Anyone holding a faculty position is not eligible for Trainee Membership in the Japanese Chapter. Trainee Members are discounted registration fees when attending Japanese Chapter Annual Scientific Meetings. Trainee Members are non-voting.
