Timo Roine currently holds positions of a postdoctoral researcher and project manager. He is managing a 10 M€ ERC Synergy project (ConnectToBrain) concerning development of TMS technology. Since his PhD studies in Anwerp, Belgium, his research has focused on investigating the reproducibility of structural and functional brain networks and developing more reliable methods for the analysis of diffusion-weighted and functional MRI data. Current projects aim to integrate the information from these techniques with EEG and TMS data to investigate brain states and their relationship to the efficacy of therapeutic neuromodulation.
Dr. Jani Saunavaara

Jani Saunavaara currently holds a position as assistant chief physicist at the Turku University Hospital. He is coordinating the work of medical physicists in the department of radiology and supporting the operation of the nine MRI scanners of the hospital in both clinical and research use. He is actively participating in several MRI related projects where novel MRI techniques are utilized. Among his research interests are the development and validation of parametric mapping of prostate cancer, investigations of child brain development using diffusion tensor imaging and volumetry, and development of MR-guided High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (MR-HIFU) therapy by utilizing quantitative MRI methods in pre-treatment fibroid and tumor evaluation as well as in treatment response mapping.
