  • Overview: This session takes the form of a panel discussion to open the conversation on how highly qualified personnel can take the lead on their career development and planning. The session will include an open floor networking session. The conversation focuses on soft skills development and effective career planning at early stages.

09:00-10:00 – Algorithm Breakdown

  • Overview: This informal session will explore the process, challenges and pitfalls of successful algorithm development. The audience will hear from colleagues experienced in the development, validation and application of formulations and algorithms for MRI. We are aiming for a relaxed and informative discussion that provides deeper insight than is typically available in ISMRM scientific sessions.

13:45-14:45 – BART Demo

  • Overview: The Berkeley Advanced Reconstruction Toolbox (BART) is a free and open-source image-reconstruction framework for computational MRI. In this session, BART developers we will demonstrate some of its features and answer questions. We would also love to hear about your BART-related projects.

17:00-18:00 – Machine Learning (ke a’o ‘ana i nā kamepiula)

  • Overview: Why is machine learning a hot topic this year? What can it do and how do I get started? Find out from a panel of experts how they got started and what they learned along the way.

13:30-14:30 – Science Communication Speakeasy

  • Overview: In this panel we will discuss the various communication channels (blogs, magazines, mainstream and social media) through which ISMRM members are recruiting and promoting the next generation of leaders in the field of magnetic resonance imaging. In keeping with the speakeasy vibe of the secret sessions, we will also be distributing drink tickets for the MRM Highlights party at the Sheraton (Rumfire lounge) on Thursday night.
