Dear AMPC Member,

For the Sydney Annual Meeting, we will continue the relatively new tradition of Member Initiated Symposia (MIS) as the primary venue for the broader membership, including Study Groups, to contribute scientific content to the meeting. We have about 30 submissions and I am planning to set aside about 20 2-hour slots during parallel weekday sessions. I have formed 3 subgroups of the AMPC to review and score these symposia proposals.

Before scoring, please take a moment to review the Guidelines for Symposia. Your scores should reflect how well an MIS meets the specified guidelines.

The review criteria should be:

1. Scientific quality. The primary selection criterion is scientific quality, timeliness and level of interest from the ISMRM membership.
2. Fit within the overall annual meeting program. The most competitive proposals will complement the existing plenary, scientific and educational content, as well as the final portfolio of Symposia. See the preliminary Program-At-A-Glance to see what is currently in the meeting.
3. Engagement of the ISMRM community. This criterion is defined broadly: gender, ethnicity and region, as well as other dimensions (career stage, MD vs PhD, alternate career pathways, etc.). Diversity can encompass both speakers and target audience, and is considered from the perspective of the broader annual meeting program.

Please read and rank each symposium on a 1=Excellent through 5=very poor scale. There is also a comment box that you can use to note any concerns you might have (including overlap with other program and/or MIS content, undisclosed conflicts, or incompatibility with the guidelines). Each person will have 11 or fewer MIS to review, and I estimate that this task will take approximately 1 hour. All MIS reviews must be completed by Monday 18 November.
